Wikipedia

  1. Harms Way

Harms Way is a racing advergame developed by Austrian independent software developer Bongfish GmbH for the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade service. It was released on December 8, 2010, for free as one of the finalists of the Doritos-sponsored "Unlock Xbox" competition for 2010, alongside Doritos Crash Course. Originating from a hybrid racing/shooting game concept by Ogden, Utah gamer Justin Carpenter, this game has a wasteland-like setting and tone, similar to Mad Max. On December 29, 2010, it was announced that Harms Way lost to Doritos Crash Course in the second "Unlock Xbox" competition. However, due to positive feedback on both games, Frito-Lay decided to give both Carpenter and competition winner Jill Robertson the same US$50,000 consultation prize each. The soundtrack for the game was provided by Austrian thrash metal band Die Mognstuambuam. On May 6, 2017, the game was added to the backwards compatibility program, making it playable on Xbox One.

Examples of harms way in a Sentence

  1. Gina Duncan:

Equality Florida's important to determine how we can get at the root cause of this and what is putting our community in harms way, we definitely saw a gap in the cultural competency of law enforcement. Work with the community has improved matters, but there's still much work to be done.

  2. Jeff Gordon:

We want to take care of the cars for sure, we dont want to put the cars in any unnecessary harms way. Its kind of a two-edge sword on the front row. You dont want to take a chance of tearing up a really good car, but youve got to figure out what to race.

  3. Charge Chris Combs:

We are concerned that there could be additional attacks, we have to stop that, we can not allow political discourse to lead us to the point of violence, where federal employees, innocent people doing their jobs are put in harms way.

  4. Omare Lamrani:

It’s a very old plane, but definitely one of the most capable, air Force has been moving toward multi-mission aircraft, but when Air Force comes to this particular mission this plane is unrivaled in Air Force ability. There is no weapon in our arsenal that offers more effective close-air support to American ground troops serving in harms way than the A-10 aircraft, - Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. First designated for retirement in 2011, a planning document the Air Force published in mid-February reveals that 2022 is the flying branch's newest deadline for the last A-10 flight. The extension was announced by Secretary of Defense Ash Carter during a preview of the Pentagon’s budget at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. according to the Arizona Daily Star. The venerable plane, first built for destroying Soviet tanks, has been on the chopping block since the sequester of 2011 mandated steep cuts in the Pentagon budget. Although the planes haven't been built in more than 30 years, the Department of Defense believes it can save maintenance costs by phasing them out. Air Force brass believes newer, faster aircraft like the F-16, F-15E, and, eventually, Lockheed Martin’s F-35 can do a better job of the Warthog’s mission of providing close air support to soldiers on the ground. But the Pentagon disagrees and has pushed back, leading to Air Force brass to extend the end date for a phase out. The plane has survived year-to-year, with powerful lawmakers such as Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain, R-Ariz., fighting to keep it alive.
