    "Hamra'" (Arabic "حمراء", "the red" or "of the colour termed red" or, "enduring" as in "tolerant" or "enduring to bear difficulty" when referring to a she-camel) is the feminine noun deriving from the triletteral Arabic root "ح م ر" which is read as "ḥā mīm rā"; Arabic words derived from triletteral roots have many meanings which are grammatically qualified by the context of their application . Triletteral roots constitute the basic morphemes from which Arabic words are formed. The masculine word "Ahmar" or "احمر" is rendered feminine by the addition of "اء", called the "alif Mamdūdah", at the end of the noun .
