Deprimentadjective
An epithet applied to one of the straight muscles that move the globe or ball of the eye, its use being to pull it downwards. Phillips.
Etymology: from deprimens, of deprimo, Latin.
All I shall farther take notice of, shall be only the exquisite equilibration of all opposite and antagonist muscles, affected partly by the natural posture of the body and the eye, which is the case of the attollent and depriment muscles. William Derham.
