crusader
A crusader is generally defined as a person who campaigns or fights vigorously for a cause or belief, often showcasing great zeal and enthusiasm. The term originates from medieval history, referring to the Christian knights who participated in the Crusades - a series of religious wars to secure control of holy sites in the Middle East between the 11th and 15th centuries. Nowadays, it is often used metaphorically to describe anyone who passionately pursues social, political, or religious reforms.
