collinsia bicolor
Collinsia bicolor, also known as Chinese Houses or Purple Chinese Houses, is a species of flowering plant in the Plantaginaceae (plantain) family. It is native to California, where it is found in the coastal ranges, the Sierra Nevada, and other nearby mountain ranges. This annual herb produces erect stems from 10 to 40 centimeters tall with oppositely arranged leaves. It produces a showy inflorescence of flowers which are usually bicolored, with a smaller upper lip that is typically white or very pale blue or purple, and a larger lower lip which is a darker shade of purple. Sadly, it is becoming less common due to loss of habitat.
