Charbel
Charbel, sometimes spelled Sharbel, a Christian name. The origin of the name is Aramaic and Akkadian, being a combination of 'Shar' and 'Bel', meaning “The breath of Bel (is good)”. The Assyrian-Akkadian equivalent is Ṭāb-Šār-Aššur or Ṭāb-Bēl. The name was borne of a pagan Assyrian priest who converted to Christianity in Arbela during the second century. It is most common among ethnic Maronites and Assyrian-Arameans of the Near East.
