    Chanot (चैनत) is a village in Hansi -1 tehsil of Hisar district, Haryana state in India with majority of Duhan Clan of Jat Caste. The name of the village is based on an old lady Dadi Chaini Devi, who was the first villager of the village.She initially lived in Mahjot before marriage with family and later she was married in Sangwan village and due to some reason she came to the place where the present Chanot is. It is in the Hansi constituency in the Haryana legislature system and in the hisar constituency in the parliamentarian system. Basically it is a model village have all facilities like Primary School, High School, dispensary, tuition centers, common service center, ration distribution center, SBI kiosk center, Veterinary Hospital, Community center, marriage place, various chaupals, patwari office, BSNL exchange, street lights, paved streets, electricity complaint center, local shopping complexes, connectivity to all nearby villages through metaled roads, Modern bus stand & public health tanker with boosting pumps. Also there is a petrol pump in village namely Ratan Filling Station. and a Playing Ground named . In Playing Ground Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose .Shree DaiyaRam (दइयाराम) was the first Nambardar of the village.
