Etymology: From a Polish royal name and saint's name Kazimierz, of Slavic origin, meaning "proclamation of peace". Alternatively, perhaps "someone who destroys opponent's prestige/glory during battle", derived from the Slavic elements kazić ("to destroy") and mir ("prestige, fame").
