    “Ica” meaning “from” in Latin, Caramanica means ”from caraman.“ In the 1400’s the Ottoman Empire conquered Karaman Bay and exiled all people from Karaman, turkey, who likely settled in other areas of Europe, called Karamanica and Caramanica, or Caramanico.
