    I first heard my uncle say "bulled up" to refer to someone who was frustrated or pissed off, had let their emotions get the best of them. My mom says he got it from my other uncle, who has lived in Virginia. I think it's a southern saying.

    I've just come across it in a couple of L.L. Akers' "SHTF" series books, and those take place in the south somewhere (Carolinas maybe?).
