  1. buffaloed

Famously used by Wyatt Earp, it means grasping a pistol backwards, thumb behind the trigger so that it doesn’t fire, and using it as a club to “crack a skull” and subdue, rather than shoot, an (unruly) opponent.

In Wyatt Earp’s violent life, he only killed 2 or 3 men, but buffaloed “thousands.”
