   Blake/Jones is a neighbourhood in the east end of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood takes its name from the two major streets within the area that parallel each other; Blake Street, and Jones Avenue. It is bordered by Danforth Avenue to the north, Pape Avenue to the west, Greenwood Avenue to the east and the CN Railway tracks just south of Riverdale/Boultbee Avenue to the south. The area which is east of Jones is also referred to as "The Pocket" by its residents. Houses are more affordable in this neighbourhood than in many areas of the city, and most homes are semi-detached. There are also a lot of people living in impoverished, densely populated public housing apartment and townhouse complexes. The two local high schools that are zoned for the area are Riverdale Collegiate Institute and Eastern Commerce near the Donlands and Danforth Avenue. Residence in the public housing have long complained about the living conditions within the townhouse complexes and building, which they claim, are not only infested with rodents and bedbugs, but also with numerous drug pens used by addicts and dealers alike. 29% of families on Blake Street are led by one parent; 91% of these families are led by women. 40% of residents are immigrants of whom 61% came to Canada before 1991. This neighbourhood is not highly transient with 64% of its residents living at the same address for over five years. Only 47% of residents over age 15 have a post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree 2006 unemployment rate was 7.7 % as compared with 6.7% in the rest of Toronto. 38% of residents are considered to have low before-tax incomes as compared with 18% in the rest of Toronto. 48% of residents are visible minorities; the largest group is Chinese, followed by blacks.
