It is nocturnal and arboreal in nature, spending most of its time on the ground or in trees, and primarily feeds on insects, fruits, and small mammals. Also known as bandit civets, they are solitary animals and are seldom seen in the wild. Despite their small size, banded palm civets are known for their pungent odor produced by their anal glands.
