bacteriological warfare
Bacteriological warfare, also known as biological warfare, is the use of biological toxins or infectious agents, such as bacteria, viruses, insects, and fungi, with the intent to kill, harm or incapacitate humans, animals or plants as an act of war. These living organisms, or replicating entities, can be naturally occurring or artificially created and enhanced to increase their ability to cause disease, improve their resistance to various treatments, or increase their ability to be spread into the environment. It is a controversial form of warfare due to its potentially large-scale and long-term devastating effects.
