Wikipedia

  1. anthologies

In book publishing, an anthology is a collection of literary works chosen by the compiler; it may be a collection of plays, poems, short stories, songs or excerpts by different authors. In genre fiction, the term anthology typically categorizes collections of shorter works, such as short stories and short novels, by different authors, each featuring unrelated casts of characters and settings, and usually collected into a single volume for publication. Alternatively, it can also be a collection of selected writings (short stories, poems etc.) by one author.Complete collections of works are often called "complete works" or "opera omnia" (Latin equivalent).

  1. Anthologies

Anthologies was a box set, the second compilation set, from the card game Magic: The Gathering. It was printed in November 1998 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Magic. It featured cards from Alpha through Urza's Saga. The print run was unknown. When it was first printed, Anthologies sold for around $20.00 MSRP, but prices have risen since. As the cards have white borders and standard backs, they are tournament-legal. Unlike Chronicles, an expansion, but like other box sets, such as Battle Royale or Duel Decks: Jace vs. Chandra, the reprinted cards did not count as current product, and thus were only legal in formats which allowed the original cards being reprinted to be used, and were not automatically legal in Standard at the time the product was available.
