anterior cerebral artery
The anterior cerebral artery is one of the two major paired arteries that supply oxygenated blood to the front part of the brain. It branches from the internal carotid artery and extends upward on the medial aspect of each cerebral hemisphere, supplying the frontal lobes, parts of the basal ganglia, and the corpus callosum, a part of the brain that links the two hemispheres. If blocked or damaged, it can result in a type of stroke known as an anterior cerebral artery stroke, often leading to impaired sensory-motor function.
