Wikipedia

  1. Amelogenesis

Amelogenesis is the formation of enamel on teeth and begins when the crown is forming during the advanced bell stage of tooth development after dentinogenesis forms a first layer of dentin. Dentin must be present for enamel to be formed. Ameloblasts must also be present for dentinogenesis to continue. A message is sent from the newly differentiated odontoblasts to the inner enamel epithelium (IEE) that causes epithelial cells to further differentiate into active secretory ameloblasts. Dentinogenesis is in turn dependent on signals from the differentiating IEE in order for the process to continue. This prerequisite is an example of the biological concept known as reciprocal induction, in this instance between mesenchymal and epithelial cells.

  1. amelogenesis

Amelogenesis is the process of tooth enamel formation that occurs during the developmental stages of a tooth. This biological process, which is performed by specialized cells known as ameloblasts, involves the secretion and mineralization of enamel proteins that eventually harden to form the enamel, the hardest substance in the human body. Any disorders or errors during amelogenesis can lead to dental problems such as amelogenesis imperfecta, characterized by abnormal formation of the enamel.

  1. Amelogenesis

Amelogenesis is the formation of enamel on teeth and occurs during the crown stage of tooth development after dentinogenesis, which is the formation of dentine. Although dentine must be present for enamel to be formed, it is also true that ameloblasts must be present in order for dentinogenesis to continue. A message is sent from the newly differentiated odontoblasts to the inner enamel epithelium, causing the epithelial cells to further differentiate into active secretory ameloblasts. Dentinogenesis is in turn dependent on signals from the differentiating IEE in order for the process to continue. This prerequisite is an example of the biological concept known as reciprocal induction, in this instance between mesenchymal and epithelial cells. Amelogenesis is considered to have two stages. The first stage is known as the secretory phase, and the second stage is known as the maturation stage. Proteins and an organic matrix form a partially mineralized enamel in the secretory stage. The maturation stage completes enamel mineralization.

  1. Amelogenesis

The elaboration of dental enamel by ameloblasts, beginning with its participation in the formation of the dentino-enamel junction to the production of the matrix for the enamel prisms and interprismatic substance. (Jablonski, Dictionary of Dentistry, 1992)
