  1. ambigennoun

ambigen. n. derived from the Latin ambi--both, either or any together + genus, gen--people, ancestry, creative, generative. Ambigen characterizes the potential or function of flexible or fluid creativity; an entity or process designed for generative functions applicable to multiple and various purposes. For example, a power generator/gear-train arrangement that can be easily reversed to transfer power in opposing directions and balance increment/decrement scaling; or a hormone that nurtures nonspecific cell division and metered tissue growth in homeostasis but targets random other cell types and triggers irregular rates of proliferation upon encountering freshly circulating immune-stress factors.
