  1. reman

The Kingdom of Reman or Kingdom of Rahman (Malay: Kerajaan Reman; Jawi: كراجأن رمان; Thai: รามัน; RTGS: Raman) was a landlocked semi-independent Malay kingdom established in northern Malay Peninsula. It was one of seven regions of Pattani Kingdom, an autonomous tributary state of Siam, between 1810 and 1902. Tuan Mansor, a member of the Patani aristocracy, ascended to the throne in 1810. The state's territory straddles the present-day Malaysia-Thailand border, covering Amphoe Raman in Yala province in Thailand, as well as Upper Perak region and parts of Jeli and Upper Kelantan regions in Malaysia.

  1. Reman

In the fictional Star Trek universe, Remans are natives of the planet Remus. They were first introduced in the movie Star Trek Nemesis and were also shown in several episodes of Star Trek Enterprise. In the script of Star Trek: Nemesis, the design for the Reman makeup is intended to resemble that of Count Orlok from the 1922 horror film Nosferatu. Around the 4th Century the Vulcan philosopher Surak brought the tenets of logic to the Vulcan people. A small group of Vulcans disagreed with Surak's teachings and left Vulcan to eventually settle on the planets Romulus and Remus. It is suggested, though never explicitly stated, that the Remans are also descended from Vulcans like the Romulans. The three species share many similar features such as pointed ears, humanoid appearance, and limited telepathic abilities. It is also possible, however, that the Remans were indigenous to Remus. This possibility is supported by the fact that the Reman written language is at least partially pictographic and the Romulan written language does not appear to be. In contrast to Romulus, which is essentially Earth-like, Remus is tidally locked with its star and is habitable only on the dark side. Because of this, the Remans have adapted to low-light conditions and have developed very pale white skin similar to cave fish. Remus is used primarily by the Romulan Star Empire for its dilithium deposits with the Remans being used as slave laborers in the mines.
