pythias
Pythias is a name of Greek origin, often denoting someone who served as a priestess of the oracle at Delphi in ancient religion. The term Pythia was derived from Python, the serpent slain by the god Apollo. Historically, Pythia was also the name of the high priestess who gave prophecies while entranced. In another context, Pythias is famous for story of friendship with Damon in Greek mythology, where Pythias is sentenced to death but allowed to temporary leave to settle his affairs after his friend, Damon, offers to die in his place if he doesn't return. Pythias returns just in time sparing Damon's life, indicating the strong bond of trust and friendship. So, Pythias can refer to either a high priestess of Delphi in ancient Greek religion or a character known for his remarkable friendship in Greek mythology.
