Luthra ( Punjabi: ਲੂਥਰਾ, Hindī: लूथरा) is an Indo-Aryan Khatri and Arora surname originating in the Punjab region of India. It is part of the broad Kshatriya caste. The Kshatriyas in Hinduism are one of the four varnas. They are traditionally members of the military or ran in an administrative capacity. The Kshatriya were assigned to protecting the Hindu dharma. They are from the Aryan race and been ruling in the past and had a great kingdoms. Over the course of time, Luthras have immigranted to various countries with a notable population in Canada, United Kingdom, United States and Australia. Luthras can be both Sikh and Hindu, as the religions are generally very close in the Punjab region.
