    Daneş in is a commune in Mureş County, Transylvania, Romania, near Sighişoara. It is composed of four villages: Criş, Daneş, Seleuş and Stejărenii.

    Natives of Denmark; during their attacks upon Britain and Ireland they made a descent on France, where, in 895, under Rollo, they received presents under the walls of Paris. They returned and ravaged the French territories as far as Ostend in 896. They attacked Italy in 903. Neustria was granted by the king of France to Rollo and his Normans (Northmen), hence Normandy, in 911. The Danes invaded England, Scotland, and Ireland with varying successes from 783 to 1084.
