Did you actually mean duad or dyad?

  1. Doad

Doad is a clan of Rajputs origin. Large settlements of Doads are found in District Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar and District Una. Significant number of Doads are also found in Faridkot, Bathinda, Ferozpur, etc. Though of Rajput orgin, Sikh Doads from the Faridkot region consider themselves as "Jatt". The agricultural Sikh Doads from the Doab region are Rajput only in name. They share more in common with the "Jatt" than they do with their Rajput Hindu forefathers. Some Doads who have emigrated to North America and Europe from village Jalwehra have changed their family name to Jalwehra or Dodd. In the earlier British accounts the Doad history was recorded under the "Dod Clan". The history of the Doad clan is beautifully described in A Glossary of the Tribes and Castes of the Punjab and North-West Frontier Province compiled by H.A. Rose and based on the census report for the Punjab 1883, by Sir Denzil Ibbetson, and the census report for the Punjab 1892 by Sir Edward Maclagan, published by the Asian Educational Services.
