bmi
BMI, or Body Mass Index, is a numerical value derived from a person's weight and height. It is defined as a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of his or her height in meters. It is used as a screening tool to identify potential weight problems in adults. However, it is not a diagnostic tool and should be used in conjunction with other measurements and assessments for determining an individual's overall health status.

British Midland Airways Limited was an airline with its head office in Donington Hall in Castle Donington, close to East Midlands Airport, in the United Kingdom. It was acquired by International Airlines Group in April 2012 and was integrated into British Airways by 27 October 2012. The airline flew to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia from its operational base at London Heathrow Airport, where at its peak it held 11 per cent of all takeoff and landing slots and operated over 2,000 flights a week. BMI was a member of Star Alliance until it withdrew on 20 April 2012. The airline was a wholly owned subsidiary of IAG, the owners of BA, who announced an agreement in December 2011 to buy the airline from Lufthansa. The deal was completed on 20 April 2012 and also included subsidiaries Bmibaby and BMI Regional, although IAG did not wish to retain either. BMI Regional was sold to Sector Aviation Holdings in May 2012, and Bmibaby closed down in September 2012. British Midland Airways Limited held a Civil Aviation Authority Type A Operating Licence, permitting it to carry passengers, cargo and mail on aircraft with 20 or more seats.

Melissa Anderson with K-9 Angels:
Besides terribly high cholesterol and BMI, Vincent's back sloped downward in the middle and our vet was fearful that one false move would cause his back to break.
In my opinion, it won't, let's face it. Those parents know their kids are not at a healthy weight, and seeing a BMI on a report card won't change habits. Will it lead to more exercise, or healthier eating at home? I'd bet money on 'no.' If they are not listening to their doctors or paying attention to news reports about the obesity epidemic, why would a number on a report card matter?
The major hypothesis that can be taken away from this study is interesting but not so mind-blowing - eating more frequently throughout the day leads to a greater intake of healthier, lower calorically-dense foods, which in turn leads to a lower overall caloric intake and BMI, this just makes sense - eating more often staves off hunger so that we don’t end up eating whatever we can get our hands on later on, thereby making it more likely that the foods we eat are healthier.
We looked at the genetic maps of people with a BMI [ body mass index ] below 18 and compared them with those of people of normal weight and found the [ genetic variant ] that correlated with being super skinny.
Not only are our results highly statistically significant, you also want to look at whether the effects are meaningful, in our case, we saw a 20 to 40 percent difference between those who didn’t eat fast food and the high consumers, which we also found was striking. This is after accounting for differences in age, sex, ethnicity, household income and BMI.
