Beat the Traffic was a provider of vehicle traffic reporting solutions for broadcast media and consumers. With a focus on daily commuters, Beat the Traffic was founded in 2001 by former CEO Andre Gueziec. On September 10, 2012, Pelmorex announced it had acquired Beat the Traffic.Using information compiled from public and private sources, crowd-sourced content coupled with its own reporting teams, Beat the Traffic provided real-time traffic information and maps for most major cities in the US and Canada. As of January 2017, Beat the Traffic is no longer an active website or application.

Beat the Traffic is a California, USA, based traffic information company founded in 2001 by former CEO Andre Gueziec, and now operated by Pelmorex Media US, Inc. Headquarters are located in Santa Clara, California. Information compiled from public and private sources is used to provide real-time traffic information and maps for most major cities in the US and Canada. Originally providing real-time traffic information in the San Francisco Bay Area through its website sfbaytraffic.info, the company has grown nationwide and beyond, now covering the US, Canadian and German markets. The company offered one-click access to traffic information at a time when companies’ efforts were mainly driven towards GPS turn-by-turn navigation, the concept rapidly caught on. The company started diversifying in early 2005, becoming multiplatform. As it began receiving competition from today’s big players in the map sector - Google and Apple to name a few - Beat the Traffic found growth opportunities in an untapped market - daily commuters.
