african elephant
The African elephant is the largest land animal, and it belongs to the family Elephantidae. There are two main species: the African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the smaller African forest elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis). Distinguished by its large ears, long curved tusks, and powerful trunk, the African elephant is known for its high intelligence and social behavior, living in matriarchal family groups. Their diet consists mainly of plants and fruits. They are native to various habitats in Africa, ranging from savannahs and deserts to marshes and forests. Due to loss of habitat and poaching for ivory, their population is under threat.

African elephant
African elephants are the elephants of the genus Loxodonta, consisting of two extant species: the African bush elephant and the smaller African forest elephant. Loxodonta is one of the two existing genera in the family Elephantidae. Although it is commonly believed that the genus was named by Georges Cuvier in 1825, Cuvier spelled it "Loxodonte". An anonymous author romanized the spelling to "Loxodonta", and the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature recognizes this as the proper authority. Fossil members of Loxodonta have only been found in Africa, where they developed in the middle Pliocene.

Examples of African Elephant in a Sentence
We would like to follow the cracking on the skin of a baby African elephant to understand the dynamic of the process, are the cracks appearing everywhere or do they appear in a specific place and then propagate ? Does it take... weeks or does it take six months ? It's a new, beautiful example of how physical processes are involved in the development of animal forms and shapes.
Michael Jackson tweeted on March 26. The controversy over the condition of the elephant has gone all the way to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The socialist leader said that Ruperta’s condition is due to old age and that the claim that she is underfed is a conspiracy driven by enemies of the state trying to demoralize the country and, especially, children. Ruperta is 46 years old, middle aged for an African elephant that typically live to age 65 or 70. Maribel Garcia, the animal rights activist who first sounded the alarms on Ruperta’s health, told Fox News that for too long the elephant had been eating just pumpkins and some grass. The elephant should be weighing 7 tons, Maribel Garcia explained, but Maribel Garcia is currently at just 4. Elephants feed on carrots, grass, vegetables, fruits and bamboo leaves, we believe that the diet of just pumpkins and the absence of her veterinarian who has treated her for more than 10 years influenced the elephant to be in that state.
