zip
In computing, zip refers to a file format used for data compression and archival. It allows one or more files to be packaged and compressed into a single archive file. Furthermore, it could also mean an action in Python programming for combining two or more lists of equal length into one list of tuples. In a geographic context, zip is an abbreviation for 'Zone improvement plan', commonly known as a zip code or postal code, used in the United States by the United States Postal Service to specify locations within the United States. As a verb, to zip can mean to close, fasten or open a zipper, or to move swiftly or quickly. In essence, the term 'zip' has varying definitions depending on the context it's used in.

Zip
.ZIP is an archive file format that supports lossless data compression. A .ZIP file may contain one or more files or folders that may have been compressed. The .ZIP file format permits a number of compression algorithms. The format was originally created in 1989 by Phil Katz, and was first implemented in PKWARE's PKZIP utility, as a replacement for the previous ARC compression format by Thom Henderson. The .ZIP format is now supported by many software utilities other than PKZIP. Microsoft has included built-in .ZIP support in versions of Microsoft Windows since 1998. Apple has included built-in .ZIP support in Mac OS X 10.3 and later. Most free operating systems have builtin support for .ZIP in similar manners to Windows and Mac OS X, while also supporting several other formats in a similar manner. .ZIP files generally use the file extensions ".zip" or ".ZIP" and the MIME media type application/zip.ZIP is used as a base file format by many programs, usually under a different name. When navigating a file system via a user interface, graphical icons representing .ZIP files often appear as a document or other object prominently featuring a zipper.

The majority of students who come to us have been smitten at some point in their lives by the look and performance of vehicles; not just cars but things with wings, things that zip down rails, do young girls usually go nuts over trucks and cars? I don't know but that early exposure seems to be what ultimately drives students to our school. And I've not heard of any barriers for entry to manufacturers' studios; the carmakers would be delighted to have more women. The notion of, 'oh, she's just a woman, is long gone.'.
