Wikidata

  1. WireTap

WireTap is a half-hour long radio show which airs on CBC Radio One Saturday afternoons at 3:30 pm, and Thursday evenings at 11:30 pm. An hour-long version of WireTap is distributed in the United States by Public Radio International and is heard on multiple public radio stations. Hosted by Jonathan Goldstein, former producer of Public Radio International's This American Life, the show features stories that are told as if over the phone with Goldstein. The show fell into what had traditionally been CBC Radio One's comedy slot on Sunday afternoons, replacing Madly Off in All Directions which moved to a different time slot, though the show itself does not fit easily into the comedy category. The show has been described as "a weekly half-hour of conversation, storytelling and introspection, culled from equal parts real-world experience and the warp of Goldstein's imagination." Each show tends to follow a particular investigative theme; past show titles include: "Life Lessons", "Reach for the Top", "Prized Possessions" and "Our Fathers". The series began in the summer of 2004 as a 10-episode experiment, after which it succeeded to its own regular timeslot. It is recorded out of CBC's Montreal studios.

Examples of wiretap in a Sentence

  1. National Intelligence James Clapper:

For the part of the national security apparatus that I oversaw as DNI, there was no such wiretap activity mounted against the President-elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign.

  2. Devin Nunes:

We need to figure out what happened here, there's a lot of unanswered question. I just don't want anybody jumping to any conclusion on any side of this, other than the fact that we know that Obama didn't physically wiretap Trump Tower, but everything else is still ... there's a lot of unknowns.

  3. Devin Nunes:

The president doesn’t go and physically wiretap something, but the other issue out there is the unmasking of names, the leaking of names. That happened to [former National Security Adviser] Michael Flynn. The concern we have is: Are there any other surveillance activities in the unmasking of names?

  4. The US attorney:

Us lawyers have talked about it, we don't believe it's true, we think it's going to turn out to be untrue because it would be totally illegal. You can't wiretap a lawyer, you certainly can't wiretap his client who's not involved in the investigation. No one has suggested that President Donald Trump was involved in that investigation. So they're going to wiretap the lawyer, his client, and his client the president of the United States ? I don't think so, not if they want to stay out of jail. Disclosing a wiretap is a federal felony. I never took'em home when I was The US attorney.

  5. Eric Rand:

The way the Superfish functionality appears to work means that they must be intercepting traffic in order to insert the ads, this amounts to a wiretap.
