Wikipedia

  1. whack-a-mole

Whac-A-Mole is an arcade game, originally known as Mogura Taiji (モグラ退治, "Mole Buster") or Mogura Tataki (モグラたたき, "Mole Smash") in Japan. A typical Whac-A-Mole machine consists of a waist-level cabinet with a play area and display screen, and a large, soft, black mallet. Five holes in the play area top are filled with small, plastic, cartoonish moles, which pop up at random. Points are scored by, as the name suggests, whacking each mole as it appears. The faster the reaction, the higher the score.

It is not enough for us to simply send in American troops to temporarily set back organizations like (ISIS), but then as soon as we leave see that void filled again by extremists, if we try to do everything ourselves all across the Middle East, all across North Africa, we'll be playing whack-a-mole and there'll be a whole lot of unintended consequences that ultimately make us less secure.

  5. Gregory Poling:

What we've seen over and over in the last years, China is unwilling to risk activities that threaten deadly force, it is possible to deter them. We'll have to keep deterring them over and over. That is the test for next 10 to 15 years in this game of whack-a-mole until the Chinese decide that this is not the way to do international relations.
