urogenital system, urogenital apparatus, urinary system, urinary apparatus, genitourinary system, genitourinary apparatus, systema urogenitale, apparatus urogenitalis(noun)
the system that includes all organs involved in reproduction and in the formation and voidance of urine
In anatomy, the genitourinary system or urogenital system is the organ system of the reproductive organs and the urinary system. These are grouped together because of their proximity to each other, their common embryological origin and the use of common pathways, like the male urethra. Also, because of their proximity, the systems are sometimes imaged together. The term "apparatus urogenitalis" is used in Nomina Anatomica, but not in Terminologia Anatomica.
