The United States Border Patrol is an American federal law enforcement agency that enforces laws and regulations for the admission of foreign-born persons to the United States, as codified in the Immigration and Nationality Act. It is an agency within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a component of the Department of Homeland Security. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection has more sworn, armed law enforcement officers than any other agency in the United States.
