Tuberculosis vaccines are vaccinations intended for the prevention of tuberculosis. There is currently only one tuberculosis vaccine available, bacille Calmette-Guérin. The vaccine has been around since the 1920s. Only 3 out of every 10 000 people who get the vaccine experience side effects. Other tuberculosis vaccines in development are: ⁕MVA85A ⁕rBCG30 ⁕72F fusion protein ⁕ESAT6-Ag85b fusion protein New vaccines are being developed by the Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative and Aeras, among others.
