    Tenrecidae is a family of mammals that includes around 34 different species collectively known as tenrecs. These species are endemic to Madagascar and parts of the African mainland. They are diverse in terms of size, appearance and lifestyle, ranging from small, mouse-like species to larger, hedgehog-like species.
