man-made fiber, synthetic fiber(noun)
fiber created from natural materials or by chemical processes
Any fiber made by extruding a synthetic substance through spinnerets to make a thread
Synthetic fibers are the result of extensive research by scientists to improve on naturally occurring animal and plant fibers.
