Wiktionary
super-Earthnoun
Any extrasolar rocky planet several times larger than Earth, especially such a planet detected as it transits its sun.
Wikipedia
Super-Earth
A super-Earth is an extrasolar planet with a mass higher than Earth's, but substantially below those of the Solar System's ice giants, Uranus and Neptune, which are 14.5 and 17 times Earth's, respectively. The term "super-Earth" refers only to the mass of the planet, and so does not imply anything about the surface conditions or habitability. The alternative term "gas dwarfs" may be more accurate for those at the higher end of the mass scale, although "mini-Neptunes" is a more common term.

Examples of super-earth in a Sentence
Gliese 1214 b is a type of planet we call a Super-Earth -- a bit bigger than Earth, a bit smaller than Neptune. It's not dense enough to be rocky so it's probably like a warm mini-Neptune. There's nothing like it in our solar system and we don't really know what to expect, on my wish list for the future is a telescope to study exoplanets like Gliese 1214 b in more detail. I want to know what's going on beneath that cloud layer !
It's very interesting to me that we have just discovered a super-Earth right up against that boundary, the fact that the planet is rocky and in its star's habitable zone also raises its intrigue, because we may now have a planet suitable for the search for life as well.
