Sloup
Sloup is a small town in Blansko District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. The town covers an area of 7.64 square kilometres, and has a population of 902. Sloup lies approximately 9 kilometres north-east of Blansko, 27 km north of Brno, and 183 km south-east of Prague. Approximately 0,7 miles from Sloup, Sloupsko-šošůvské caves are located, with Kůlna – the cave that became a remarkable European paleolitic site since 1880s.
