Wikipedia
Shape-Up
A shape-up, also called a line-up or an edge-up, is a hairstyle that involves cutting along the natural hairline to straighten it. Edge-ups are typically found among men and short-haired women. The haircut grew in popularity during the 1980s, typically among those who have Afro-textured hair, and became the precursor to other stylish haircuts, such as the high-top fade, low fade, and designs such as crescent moon parts, side parts, and waves in hair. The shape-up is influenced by hip-hop and pop culture and is common among entertainers and basketball players.

Shape-Up
Shape-Up is the name given to a hairstyle that is a cut around the hairline. It is usually mixed and matched with other hair styles, but on many occasions is done alone. It is typically found amongst men who utilize the Caesar cut. The hair is cut low, and after the primary cutting is done, the barber uses T-shaped clippers or a sharp razor blade to line up the customer's hair line, circling the entire head to include behind the ears, the back of the head, and sideburns. In nearly all cases as well, the barber may remove other hair which is visible from the customer's shirt collar growing from the back or lower neck. It is used by such celebrities as Hari Rhodes, James Edwards, Ivan Dixon, Greg Morris, Jay Sean, Nas, Jamie Foxx, Will Smith, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Dr. Dre, Chris Brown, Chris Rock, Jay-Z, Barack Obama, Chris Paul, Ludacris, Bow Wow. The haircut is popular with African-American males.
