radial artery, arteria radialis(noun)
branch of the brachial artery beginning below the elbow and extending down the forearm around the wrist and into the palm
The main artery that enters the wrist on the side of the thumb.
Origin: radial here means “of or pertaining to the radius” (one of the bones of the arm).

The direct continuation of the brachial trunk, originating at the bifurcation of the brachial artery opposite the neck of the radius. Its branches may be divided into three groups corresponding to the three regions in which the vessel is situated, the forearm, wrist, and hand.
