    McRae is a city in Telfair County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 5,740, up from 2,682 at the 2000 census, due largely to expansion of the city limits around the McRae Correctional Facility. The city is the county seat of Telfair County. McRae was incorporated March 3, 1874, and was named for a pioneering Scottish family.
