    Maryam is the 19th sura of the Qur'an and is a Makkan sura with 98 ayat. It is named after Maryām, or Mary, Mother of Isa, or Jesus, who appears in verses 16-34. Theodor Nöldeke's chronology identifies this sura as the 58th sura delivered, while the traditional Egyptian chronology places it as the 44th.
