Wikipedia
Macrocytosis
Macrocytosis is the enlargement of red blood cells with near-constant hemoglobin concentration, and is defined by a mean corpuscular volume (MCV) of greater than 100 femtolitres (the precise criterion varies between laboratories). The enlarged erythrocytes are called macrocytes or megalocytes (both words have roots meaning "big cell"). As a symptom its cause may be relatively benign and need no treatment or it may indicate a serious underlying illness.

macrocytosis
Macrocytosis is a medical condition characterized by the presence of abnormally large-sized red blood cells in the bloodstream, often associated with vitamin B12 or folate deficiency, alcoholism, or certain types of anemia. It can be diagnosed through a routine blood test, where the size of red blood cells (referred to as mean corpuscular volume or MCV) is measured. A high MCV indicates macrocytosis. This condition may not cause any noticeable symptoms but is typically a sign of an underlying health issue that may need to be addressed.
