The total area is 82.40 km². The city was founded on October 1, 1971. On March 23, 2010, Kuki City absorbed the town of Shōbu, from Minami Saitama District and the towns of Kurihashi and Washimiya, both from Kitakatsushika District, to form the current Kuki City.
