  1. Galvanometer, Ballistic

    A galvanometer whose deflected element has considerable moment of inertia; the exact opposite of an aperiodic or dead beat galvanometer. (See Galvanometer, Aperiodic.) All damping by air vanes or otherwise must be carefully done away with.
