1. faraizi a Mohammedansect formed in 1827, and met with chiefly in Eastern Bengal; they discardtradition, and accept the Korân as their soleguide in religious and spiritual concerns, in this respect differing from the Sunnites, with whom they havemuch else in common; although of a purer morality than the mainbody of Mohammedans, they are narrow and intolerant.
