A synthetic progestational hormone used alone or in combination with estrogens as an oral contraceptive.
Ethynodiol diacetate, or ethynodiol diacetate, is a steroidal progestin which is used as a hormonal contraceptive. Relative to other 19-nortestosterone derivatives, it has relatively little or no potency as an androgen, and also unlike most progestins in general, has significant estrogenic effects.
