dardic language
A Dardic language is a subset of the Indo-Aryan languages that is primarily spoken in the northwestern region of South Asia. This includes areas of northern Pakistan, northeastern Afghanistan, and the disputed territories of Jammu and Kashmir. These languages are considered part of the larger Indo-Iranian language family, and include languages such as Kashmiri, Shina, and Khowar. However, the classification of these languages under the Dardic umbrella has been controversial, and some linguists propose to regard them as distinct from other Indo-Aryan languages.
