Cydonia is a region on the planet Mars that has attracted both scientific as well as popular interest. The name Cydonia comes from an albedo feature (a region that reflects sunlight differently than its surroundings) located at latitude 40.75° north and longitude 9.46° west on Mars. It drew popular interest due to a formation resembling a face known as the "Face on Mars."
