  2. Akua Njeri:

I'm not dancing in the street yet. ... I'm kind of pessimistic about it, but I'm glad Derek Chauvin's convicted, and then we'll see what happens with the other pigs.

  3. Ben Crump:

Not only were Chauvin and the City of Minneapolis held accountable, but cities and states across the country have passed meaningful reforms, including restrictions on chokeholds and better training and protocols, we need this sentence to usher in a new era of accountability that transforms how Black people are treated by police. To achieve that – real, lasting change in police departments from coast to coast – we need the U.S. Senate to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act without further delay.

  4. Nicole Brown Simpson:

I thought it was a classic case of depraved indifference. I thought it was unnecessary force and no matter which side you're on, I think everybody would pretty much have to agree that if those deputies and Chauvin would have gotten off of George Floyd, there was no chance George Floyd was going to get up and try to run... try to attack them in handcuffs, that didn't seem to be his personality.

  5. Bob Bennett:

Beware the ease of blaming Chauvin alone. While he is a blunt instrument of police brutality and racism, he could never flourish in a police agency that lived up to its mission statement.
