brachiocephalic vein
The brachiocephalic vein, also known as the innominate vein, is one of the major veins in the upper body. There are two brachiocephalic veins, right and left, which are located in the upper chest, deep under the collarbone. These veins are formed by the union of each respective internal jugular vein and subclavian vein. They carry deoxygenated blood from the upper limbs, neck and head back to the heart. The right brachiocephalic vein is typically larger and shorter than the left. They drain into the superior vena cava, which in turn takes the blood into the right atrium of the heart.
