beitinnoun
Beit'in is considered by some to be the traditional Beth'el, located a few kilometers north. Beth'el is where Jacob of the New Testament had a dream about angels going up and down from heaven (Jacob's Ladder). That would mean that according to Hebrews and Christians, Beit'in is the gate to heaven.
